Welcome to the Decentralized Way, my name is Decentralized J and I will be your host. At a very high level, this is all about making your money work for you in todays economy. While there are a multitude of ways to outpace inflation, generate passive income, and generally stay ahead of the curve, I think it is most important to understand exactly why this is the most vital topic in our lives today.

Simply put, you cannot escape money. It may be a construct of sorts, but humans have been using currencies for many lifetimes. It has been nearly 5,000 years since the Mesopotamian Shekel surfaced, a coin stamped on gold and silver that was likely used to pay armies for protection. In today’s world, money opens doors, creates opportunity, and governs our lives, whether we like it or not.

Humans are the only animals that pay to live on this planet. Even just being born is expensive (of course depending on where you happen to land).

Add to this that our world has changed (and gotten more expensive) exponentially over the last 100+ years, especially in the last 20. There are people driving cars who don’t remember a pre 9/11 world, or one without Instagram. Our world now consists of blatant corruption from elected officials, rampant inflation caused by Quantitative Easing (QE - or as I like to say - money printing), and Web3 technologies that are popping up and maturing faster than you can even define them.

The wealth gap between the rich and the poor was greater during the French Revolution than it is now. And when I say rich, I don’t mean makes a couple hundred grand rich, or even a few million rich. I mean making billions per year rich. Call that rich rich.

But even if you’re rich rich, you’ll find value in this newsletter if you believe that the world is changing. And changing fast.

For everyone else, we’re fighting to keep our heads above water. If you don’t swim, you’ll drown.

But I don’t want to just swim. The Decentralized Way is about becoming Michael Phelps at the Beijing Olympics. Head and shoulders above the rest.
